Sam Park for GA House 101

In 2016, I was invited to a dinner party, and the hostess introduced Sam Park as a new candidate running for office in District 101. My sister Bee and I agreed to help him with his campaign, and that was my foray into designing political campaigns for progressive candidates in Georgia.

Sam’s original logo concept was blue and green, but we switched to red, white, and blue for a more classic, patriotic color look and feel.

In an election upset, Sam Park unseated a three-term incumbent, winning 51.10% of the vote. He made history as the first openly gay man and Asian American Democrat elected to the Georgia legislature.

Sam would go on to win his re-elections in 2018, 2020, and 2022.
